Club Meeting

Wednesday June 12th, 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Moose Lodge #1548, 2200 Pratt Street, Longmont, CO 80501
Open to all members and guests.

The lodge is one street west of main, between 21st and 23rd on Pratt Street. We'll be in the north hall. Folks who arrive early will need to enter at the main entrance. In the lobby the rear left double door is the middle hall and continuing through the middle hall is the north hall. The front door is a key card door but there is a button for the bar tenders to open the door. Those that arrive early can prop the door open on east side of the north hall so folks can park on the east side of the building and enter through that door.

Past Meeting Minutes
Past Board Meeting Minutes
  • Bureau of Land Management has closed 317 miles of trails west of Moab, Utah. Blue Ribbon Coalition injunction was denied. Trails will be closed during the legal battle. Mike M talked with BRC and reviewed with the club members. After discussion the motion to donate $3,000 to BRC for the Moab legal team was reactivated. Original motion by Ray C, seconded by Mark G. Vote was taken and motion passed. Funds will come from the Kilgour Fund.
  • Blue Ribbon Coalition (BRC) has had some recent successes. They blocked the BLM Conservation Plan to sell off public lands to private conservation groups. They blocked a plan in Idaho that would have closed 600 miles of motorized roads and trails. New challenges are the San Rafael Swell plan put out by the BLM, the Dolores River Plan in southern Colorado, and the Bears Ears Monument Plan in Utah.
  • The 40th Anniversary will be in 2025. The club needs volunteer to head the committees that will be needed to plan and implement this event. Presently Ray C will be overall lead, Deb T and Vic W will lead committee on lodging, Greg B will lead committee on trails, Wanda C will handle flags, Adam M will handle T-Shirts. First meeting will be June 7, 6:30pm, at Ray C house. Present proposed location is Salida, Colorado.
  • Utah Public Lands Alliance is promoting a new tool to document the 4WD roads that are driven, trailsaver.com. This will be used on the Green River trip to document the 4WD roads driven.

Henson Canyon into the Henry Mountains over Stanton Pass was a change from desert canyons to mountain forests. Also did Lollipop Loop and Taylor Ridge. There were a few 4WD trails that had a bit of challenge.
