Club Meeting

Wednesday May 13th, 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Moose Lodge #1548, 2200 Pratt Street, Longmont, CO 80501
Open to all members.

The lodge is one street west of main, between 21st and 23rd on Pratt Street. We'll be in the middle hall. Folks who arrive early will need to enter at the main entrance. In the lobby the rear left double door is the middle hall. The front door is a key card door but there is a button for the bar tenders to open the door. Those that arrive early can prop the door open on east side of the middle hall so folks can park on the east side of the building and enter through that door.

Also working to get Congress to review the Grand Staircase and Escalante National Monument rule for over reach in it designations. Short review of some of the 4WD projects being funded in 2026 by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife OHV sticker program.
  • Trivia was done by Gary B. Question: The Jeep JL, built between 2018 and 2025, is offered in two door and four door. What is the percentage of 2 door JLs sold and the percentage of 4 door JLs sold during that time period. Answer: 2 door JLs is 15% and 4 door JLs is 85%. Congratulations to Kathy H for getting this answer correct. She deferred next months trivia to David C.
  • Jana C updated planning for the Ladies Luncheon. Register on the club calendar and see the club forum post for details. The first one will be on Thursday, April 16, 2026, 11:15 AM until 1:30 PM at the Longmont Brunch Club, 1135 Francis Street, in Longmont.
  • Planning for the Middle St. Vrain drive and hike pre seasonal opening review. Ray C will be doing a drive in of the Middle St. Vrain 4WD road as far as the snow pack will allow and then hiking a couple miles to review the condition of the 4WD road and the number of downed trees. Date will be April 20, 9:00am, meet at the first gate at Peaceful Valley Campground. See the club calendar to register.
  • Began planning for the Middle St. Vrain and Coney Flats seasonal opening. We will be working on the entrance obstacle. Need to hire a backhoe, or rent one for the project.
  • Ray C updated on the Go Topless event on May 16. This is a fundraising event. See the club calendar for more details and to register for the TRR meet up prior to the event.
  • The Moose Lodge Pavillion has been reserved for the Memorial Day picnic. We need a volunteer to coordinate the picnic. We always have plenty of volunteers to make the picnic a success.
  • Ray C reviewed of the Coney Flats hike to preview the 4WD road for downed trees prior to the seasonal opening. Ray and Dan T made it a couple mile in. No major downed trees. Still some snow on the ground.
  • Dan T reviewed the RCI Offroad products trip. Fifteen members attended. They met at Serious Texas BBQ for lunch before touring the RCI facility. RCI makes after-market products for many vehicles. They use CNC laser cutters, and computerized metal brakes for bending sheet stock. They use robotic welding as well as manual TIG and MIG. They do their own powder coating. Their R&D group uses factory specs, CAD models and 3D scanners to develop products.
  • Ray C reviewed his Rollins Pass snow run. Seven vehicles attended. They made it to Jenny Creek campground. They found a nice lunch spot down below the railroad grade. Easy getting down to it, hard getting back up to the railroad grade.
  • Motion to close meeting, Wanda C, second by Mark G.
  • Open discussion.
