About this event

This will be a fall fencing project on the Middle St. Vrain 4WD road. We will be hauling in 150 feet of buck and rail fencing to the two water holes and constructing three 50 feet sections of fence. There will also be work done at the Rock Garden to further block the user created bypass. We will need trailers that can go off-road to haul the material up the Middle St. Vrain to the water holes, about 1.5 miles. This will take multiple trips hauling 5 feet cross bucks and 10 feet rails. Tools needed will be impact drivers and bits for the timber locks, shovels, sledgehammers for driving re-bar, and any other items to install this fencing. We will have the club generator trailer with its tools. Bring rubber boots as the work will be along the edge of the water holes.
This will be a multi-day project so we will be camping overnight at the west end of the water holes, for those that want to work the next day. Bring the usual hard hat, gloves, sunscreen, water, bug spray, etc. Bring your own food as well.
During the fencing we will not be able to block the road, so there will be the added challenge of the usual weekend traffic.
There will also be a smaller group going up to the Rock Garden to implement more closures of the bypass as well as improving an easier section along the edge of the main rocky area that has already been disturbed. This will most likely be on Saturday October 5 when we will have a Forest Service sawyer with us.
